Pain Relief From Face to Foot

Massage Therapy, Rolf Method, Somatic Guidance

Welcome, I'm EricRose.

Have you ever had a truly great massage that leaves you wondering, "what just happened?" and wanting more?   That's what I aim for in every session.  I enjoy creating unique bodywork treatments for people who are in pain, want to stay out of pain or want to unlock their body's full potential.

Located in Montpelier, Vermont,  I offer a safe space for people to slow down, soften and rest.  This is a sanctuary for healing body, mind and spirt.  A place where living pain free becomes reality.

No matter where you are in your life's journey, I will meet you there and take you closer to where you want to be.

Deep Tissue Massage

If you like to feel the deep pressure in your body that comes along with a "good" deep tissue massage, this session will be just right for you.

With a focus on relaxing muscle fibers that lie far beneath the skin.  Deep tissue massage alleviates stiffness that limits range of motion, softens the "knots"  that never go away and alleviates chronic joint pain that keeps you from moving and feeling your best.

Myofascial Release

If you like a more holistic approach that is  slow, intuitive, gentle and  yet deeply satisfying,  myofascial release therapy will be the right choice for you.  Focusing more on fascia than pressing into muscles, myofascial release changes your body and is a corrective, effective and lasting way to alleviate and resolve:  neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, headaches, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, TMJ and more.

Rolf Method

If you are feeling stuck in your body, mind or spirit, and you are wanting to make some changes in life but don't know what they are or how to do it,  then The Rolf Method 10-Series is an excellent solution.   Rolf Method sessions are a blend of assessments, bodywork, movement education and somatic guidance.  These sessions are designed to resolve chronic pain from the inside out,  improve posture and empower you with the information you need to enjoy and maintain an active lifestyle with more range of motion and no pain.

Somatic Massage

If you are having trouble relaxing your body, are always tense, stressed or living with unresolved trauma, Somatic massage can help relieve stress and trauma from your body,  regulate your nervous system to a more relaxed state of rest and help you feel your best.

We all have stress and trauma trapped in our bodies.   These are stressful times and it is important to release the accumulated trauma that gets stored and trapped in our muscles and joints.   Somatic massage is a gentle way to facilitate the release of stress, trauma or whatever you are holding onto that is unhelpful and no longer serving you.  Letting go of stress and trauma: improves physical and mental well-being, regulates the nervous system, reduces anxiety and can be the missing link to resolving chronic pain.

The exact Phrase "myofascial release" was coined in the 1960's by Robert Ward, an osteopath who studied with Ida Rolf, the originator of Rolfing©.  “Myo” refers to muscle and “fascial” refers to fascia, the thin fibrous material the runs through and wraps around muscles.  Rolf created an entire  bodywork system based on Myofascial Release  techniques to  treat chronic pain and improve posture. She called it Structural Integration, but in her honor, it became known as Rolfing©.

Myofascial Release treatments feel quite different than massage.  Myofascial Release is  like a blend of Physical Therapy, Chiropractic and Massage Therapy.  In broad general terms, Massage Therapists work on the muscles, Physical Therapists strengthen muscles and Chiropractors work on the bones.  Myofascial Release Therapists work in the fascia.  By releasing fascial restrictions, the fasciae of the body can lengthen and become balance, which decompresses joints and  allows bones to return to their natural alignment.

All Rolfers®  are Structural Integrators, but not all Structural Integrators are Rolfers®.  The words ROLFER and ROLFING are service marks of  The Dr. Ida Rolf Institute® of Structural Integration.  The words ROLFER and ROLFING are used by individuals trained and certified by the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute®.   Other Schools of Structural Integration have shared roots with The Dr. Ida Rolf Institute®  through the study of Ida Rolf's rich legacy of teachings. Graduates from other schools ca say they practice The Rolf Method of Structural Integration, not Rolfing®.

Structural Integration when done well is relaxing.  Fascia changes effortlessly and painlessly when muscles are relaxed. It's  magical.

No, you will benefit from a single session or two but the most lasting changes will be experienced during a Traditional Rolf 10 Series.
